AI Compass designs and provides AI‑powered apps, SaaS products and chatbots to business and consumer customers. This page explains how these AI services work and what that means for you as a customer.
1. What we mean by “AI services”
When we talk about our “AI services”, we mean features and products that use artificial intelligence and machine‑learning technologies to generate or analyse content based on information you provide, such as:
Chatbots that answer questions or assist users.Tools that generate or improve text or other content.Analytics or recommendation features that help you understand patterns or next best actions.
Our AI services are commercial products we sell to organisations and individuals, including standalone apps, subscription‑based SaaS tools and custom chatbots. These AI features are built into our wider services, for example our apps, SaaS products and digital programmes.
2. How our AI services use your data
Our AI features use the data you and your authorised users choose to provide, for example:
Prompts, questions and messages entered into a chatbot. Text or other content you upload to be analysed or transformed.Usage data such as clicks, page views and interaction logs.
We use this data to:
Generate AI‑powered responses, suggestions or content. Provide, secure and maintain our services. Improve the performance, reliability and safety of our AI features, for example by monitoring usage patterns and troubleshooting issues.
Where we analyse usage to improve our services, we aim to use aggregated or anonymised data where possible.
3. Your responsibilities when using AI
As a business customer, you remain responsible for how you and your users choose to use our AI services and any outputs they generate. In particular, you are responsible for:
Making sure you have a lawful basis to include personal data in prompts or content you submit. Not submitting unlawful, infringing, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate content.Reviewing and validating AI outputs before relying on them in your business.Deciding how AI outputs are used in your own products, processes or decision‑making.
You must not use our AI features for safety‑critical or other high‑risk purposes, such as medical, legal or financial decisions about individuals, without a separate written agreement with us.
4. Accuracy, limitations and allocation of risk
AI is powerful but not perfect. Our AI features can:
Make mistakes or omit important details. Generate outdated, incomplete or biased information. Misinterpret prompts or context.
AI outputs are generated automatically and are provided “as is” for general information only. They do not constitute professional, legal, financial or other advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying and deciding whether and how to rely on or use any AI outputs in your business, and for any actions or decisions you take based on them.
We design our contracts with business customers so that, in line with applicable law, responsibility for reliance on AI outputs primarily sits with the customer and any liability we accept in relation to AI services is subject to an overall limitation of liability.
5. Third‑party AI providers
We use trusted third‑party AI and cloud providers to help deliver some of our AI features. These providers may process data as our service providers under contract with us.
We:
Put contracts and safeguards in place to protect your data. Require providers to process data securely and in line with applicable law. May need to pass through some of their acceptable‑use rules to you, for example restrictions on certain types of content.
6. Your choices and controls
You can control how you use our AI services, including:
Choosing which features you enable for your organisation and users. Deciding what information you submit into prompts and content fields. Asking us about configuration options that reduce the use of personal data where appropriate.
